Introduction
This class is focused on introduction to the programming of robots. There are different ways to program a robot:
1.Teaching pendant (online programming): Programming through a teach pendant is the most popular way of programming robots. In order to program the robot, the operator uses the pendant to move the robot from point-to-point, saving each position individually. When the program has been learned, the robot can perform the program at full speed. The robot can be programmed using precise coordinates. Such programming requires that the robot is put in “teach mode” and that other operations are discontinued
2.Offline programming (simulation): In this form of programming, the program is simulated and generated in advance on a computer. The robot’s other operations are not interrupted as the programming is done independently using a virtual model of the robot
3.Teaching by demonstration: the operator moves the robot around, either by manipulation of a force sensor or a joystick attached to the robot. Like with the teach pendant, the operator needs to store each position in the robot computer. This class is focused on creating skills for online robot programming using a teach pendant.
