The Bently Nevada ADAPT (ADvanced Programmable Trip System) 3701/55 is a complete Emergency Shutdown Device (ESD) system.
It safeguards machinery by monitoring critical parameters and triggering an automatic shutdown in case of preset thresholds being exceeded.
As a safety instrumented system (SIS), the ADAPT 3701/55 is designed to comply with stringent safety integrity levels (SIL).
The system comprises multiple Relay Modules (part number 323073-01), each offering five relay contacts.
Two relays function independently, driven by a corresponding CPU module.
The remaining three relays can be configured as either independent or operate in a 2oo3 voting scheme for enhanced reliability.
A typical application involves using the ADAPT 3701/55 for overspeed protection of rotating machinery.
The system achieves SIL 3 certification, the highest safety integrity level, ensuring dependable operation in critical safety loops.
