The Foxboro OPC I/O Gate client
This Foxboro solution for the OPC implementation on I/A Series is based on the Foxboro I/A 70 Series Integrator1 with an additional I/O Gate providing the OPC functionality. This I/A 70 Series integrator AW can, being part of the I/A Series system, provides the OPC functionality to the rest of the I/A Series Windows/UNIX platform. Once the OPC data is available on the AW70 Server it is available in the entire I/A Series system. Currently Invensys is developing a hardware solution for the OPC Client. This solution will be based on a fieldbus module which runs Windows CE in ROM. This new OPC Client is coming available in I/A Series Version 8.0.
