Description

Operation of this device is accomplished with either a three-position control switch or by a computer running the appropriate software. For precise installation and safety guidelines, see the product manual. Ensure that rack power is disconnected before installing. The three-position switch must be in the stop position. Connect the memory expansion board. The CMOS battery may be inserted into either of the battery connection slots. Then insert the device into slot one of the rack. Reconnect power to the rack. The device is now ready to program.

When using this power supply, users can calculate the power requirements specific to their application. To do this, you first need to determine the total output load by checking the specs listed in the IC693 PLC Installation and Hardware Manual. This will show the specifications for individual modules. The total output load should be multiplied by 1.5 to determine input power value.To calculate the input current requirement, divide the input power by the operating source voltage.As the operating source voltage may vary, you should use the lowest measured or estimated input voltage to determine the maximum input current. Operators who are making this calculation should alsoallow for start-up surge current requirements and allow a margin of 10-20% for variation.
