The HIMA F8652X is a safety-related central processing unit (CPU) that is used in applications up to SIL 3 and PLe. It is a dual-channel CPU with two 32-bit microprocessors that are synchronized using a hardware clock. The F8652X also has a number of safety features, such as a safety-related watchdog timer and a hardware-based memory protection unit.
