Product Overview
The Trusted® Dual 24 Vdc Analogue Input Module interfaces to 60 field input devices. Comprehensive diagnostic tests are performed on each input channel. Fault tolerance is achieved through the ‘One-Out-Of-Two D’ (1oo2D) voting architecture within the Module for each of the 60 input channels.
Each field input is duplicated and the input voltages are measured using sigma-delta input circuits. The resulting field voltage measurement is compared to user configurable threshold voltages to determine the reported field input state.
Using the built-in line-monitoring feature which is independently configurable for each input channel, the Module can detect open and shorted field cables. The duplicated voltage measurement, coupled with on-board diagnostic testing, provides comprehensive fault detection and tolerance.
The Module provides on-board Sequence of Events (SOE) reporting with a resolution of 1 ms. A change of state triggers an SOE entry. States are determined by voltage thresholds that can be configured on a per channel basis. When the field voltage and field return are connected to the auxiliary input channels of the Module, thresholds can be specified as a ratio of the field supply voltage.
